There are over 80 such events around the world and the concept of Photomarathon began in Madrid in 1986. As of this year Sofia enters the international calendar of photomarathons in the world.
It is a photographic competition where participants must produce a series of photographs on predefined topics in a given period of time.
The pictures must be submitted straight from the camera. Editing or processing are not allowed. An international jury will evaluate anonymously the photographs taking into account the shooting technique and the creativity in interpreting the topic.
The first prize for best series of three images is a 3-day visit to Paris and the second prize is a bank card with 500 BGN from Société Générale. The winners in individual topics will receive 150 BGN vouchers for equipment and print from Photosynthesis. Then the images will continue to race for the votes of the audience and participate in an exhibition in Photosynthesis.
More information about the rules of the Photomarathon and the registration for the contest could be found in the website for the event.
